New office building planning application

We’re pleased to confirm that plans have been submitted to expand Prestwick Business Park, supporting new jobs and business growth near Newcastle International Airport.

We have lodged a first-phase planning application with Northumberland County Council for a new 680 sq metre office building, forming part of a wider 2.5-hectare employment allocation within the Northumberland Local Plan.

Developed in collaboration with Rural Solutions, the proposals have been carefully designed to reflect the character of the existing park. The scheme will incorporate local stone, timber louvres, photovoltaic panels and air source heat pumps, alongside additional landscaping and parking.

James Ellis, planning director at Rural Solutions, said: “The exciting proposals from the Wilson family respond to the positive approach taken by Northumberland County Council in allocating land for the expansion of the existing business park.

“The sustainable designs will create space for new jobs and businesses in close proximity to Newcastle Airport, Ponteland and Prestwick village.

“We look forward to working with the Council as the application moves forward to a decision.”

Since establishing the business park in 2005 through the conversion of former farm buildings, we have seen it grow into a fully occupied site supporting a wide range of small and medium-sized businesses. This next phase responds to continued demand for high-quality workspace in a well-connected location.

With demand for our offices continuing and our current units fully let, we are pleased to bring forward proposals to expand the business park and grow our occupier community.

Subject to approval, construction could begin soon, with further phases planned across the wider site.
